We live in a area called Wheal vor Just on the outskirts of a village called Carleen. We are three miles from Helston famous for the Floral Dance, eight miles from Camborne famous for Richard Trevithick and nine miles from Penzance famous for Humphry Davey.

Chy an Besow covers an area of twenty two acres laid to pasture sloping to the south with a stream and two ponds. We purchased the small holding in January 2005 with all but six acres over grown with gorse. It took two years hard graft,  after which the gorse had been cleared and pastures laid to grass. Over the years we have added barns and stables, and a farm shop. We keep oxford sandy and black pigs and a variety of free range hens. We also have our own horses which we drive and offer carriage rides through the lanes in the area in the summer.

The Farm shop is run by Julie, open six days of the week. We stock a variety of products, pork beef lamb, fruit and veg, groceries such as sugar tea coffee, Rodda’s milk and famous Cornish clotted cream and cheese. Oven door Cornish pasties are available most Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays.

Julie also bakes a variety of cakes, and pies, home made bread to order and home made Jams and chutneys for which she is getting known for.

We also have four or five hives of honey bees the honey is available in the shop.

Our son Glynn works with us on the farm and is also livery yard manager. He is currently in the middle of his equine care and management qualification. He is married to Gemma and has three children (our grand children) Lewis Evie and the youngest Faye. Lewis works in the shop on Saturdays and the two girls love coming down and helping out with the animals.
